So much for updating often, right?
Well we're coming up on the new year, kids. And like everyone else my (main) resolution is to lose weight...and pretty hardcore-like.
Diet:
My dieting goal is basically to eat better. More salad, veggies, rice, etc. I am competely cutting out soda (I only drink Sprite, but that's gonna stop), fast food (bye-bye weinerschnitzel...unless I decide i deserve a cheat), nastiness. I am also going to drink green tea daily, because it's supposed to help your metabolism a whole lot. A typical day should look like this:
Breakfast: about 200 calories cereal and fruit, yogurt and tea, etc. something light
Snack: 100 calories fruit, string cheese, yogurt, something fresh or dairy
Lunch: about 200-300 calories steamed or fresh veggies, subway sandwich, yogurt, etc.
Dinner: about 400-500 calories I'm not going to be as specific here, but I generally want fresh/natural/good things like steamed veggies, chicken breast, brown rice, etc. If dinner needs to be quick or I am eating with Chris while he is at work we can have Sweet Tomatoes, stir fries at Luby's, Burrito Bols or salads at Chipotle, Teriyaki at Teriyaki Don, etc. Good stuff.
Snack: 80-100 calories Here I can have fruit, popcorn, or a piece of chocolate. I've begun to crave dark chocolate, and usually I only eat one piece. This is usually when we watch our movies and with movies come snacks, but it's not hard for us to choose healthier snacks. Also, I want to have one cheat
Exercise:
My goal is to exercise at least an hour and half at least 5 days a week. I am going to rotate my exercise tapes, yoga, and the ab-lounger. I bought myself the 2nd Carmen Electra DVD which is really just a cardio work out. This week I am signing up for a 4-week yoga intro class at Fig Garden Yoga Studio, I'm so excited! I did a yoga dvd for the first time on Friday and I felt so awesome afterward. So, yep...I'm going to be mixing up cardio/dance work outs, pilates, and yoga so I won't get bored. I also want to take a bellydance class, but I'll figure that out when the yoga intro is done.
So kids, that's basically what is going down with my new year. I hope to drop at least 20 pounds, if not 30 doing this. I need to set mini-goals and what not, but I'll save those for another post.
